Ulster swimmer Melanie Nocher set a new Ulster and Irish Senior Record (SC) at the BUCS meet in November in Sheffield. Nocher, representing Loughborough University, set a time of 1:57.29 in winning the 200m Freestyle event, finishing first ahead of a strong field. She was awarded with “Top Female Swimmer” at the meet, also taking gold in the 200m Backstroke (2:05.63) and the 4x50m Freestyle Team Relay and finishing second in the 400m Freestyle event (4:10.63).

Also in action was Clare Dawson, representing Stirling University. Dawson finished third in the 800m Freestyle in a time of 8:37.81 (a new Ulster Senior Record) and was fourth in both 200m Freestyle (2:01.23) and 400m Freestyle (4:13.46) events.
