|
Twenty Ulster Squad swimmers including Irish International Bethany Carson (Commonwealth Games 2010, European SC Championships 2011), Curtis Coulter (Commonwealth Youth Games 2011) and Mary Kate McDowell (European Youth Olympics 2011) attended the 14th Luxembourg Euro Meet 27-29 January 2012. The trip was supported by Swim Ulster Ltd and Sport NI as an opportunity to gain additional international racing experience for our top swimmers and for exposure to a higher level of competition for our younger developing athletes. The Luxembourg Euro meet was a designated London 2012 qualifying event and featured 27 nations, 68 clubs and over 400 athletes competing for places, personal bests, qualifying times and prize money. The squad were treated to world class performances over the course of the weekend with 8 new meet records and 3 international swimmers achieving the FINA A qualifying time for London 2012.
