Coaching

Swim Ulster wish to develop a coach development system to ensure all coaching staff are able to reach their full potential.  It is important that each stage of the pathway is delivered by coaches who are specialists in that field.  This will give swimmers the best chance to achieve high performance standards.Continuous Professional development is vital to all coaches and must be available to them at all levels. We must nurture our coaches and give them chances to work alongside high performance coaches, opportunities to attend high level international competitions to prepare them for working with elite athletes.

Swim Ulster Coaching Development Programme

Aim; -To deliver a coaching system to ensure all coaching staff have the technical knowledge and coaching skills to coach athletes to the highest level.

This programme is part of the Swim Ireland Coaching Development Plan and will be linked to SI strategic goals.

Swim Ulster Education Programme

Officials
SI course – we need officials to run our competitions at a high level to prepare our swimmers for National and International competitions

Team Manager
SI level 1 & 2 – we need qualified and professional team managers to take swimmers to training camps and competitions and to ensure that they have the best conditions possible to enable them to train and compete

Tutor Upskilling
Tutors are currently being upskilled to deliver the new SI qualification which is endorsed by UKCC and Coaching Ireland.

Coach CPD Programme

• Delivered annually in Ulster to ensure coaches are equipped to take swimmers to their full potential and to close the gap between Ulster / Ireland / UK / Europe and the International Arena
• Coach Education / cpd for all regional / club coaches and an opportunity to work with HP coach.
• Talent ID coach education
