Portadown ASC

County Armagh

Portadown Amateur Swimming Club (PASC) was formed shortly after Cascades opened in 1970. Over the last forty plus years PASC coaches have been introducing kids to swimming, nurturing a love of swimming and developing skills for life. We are very lucky to have very dedicated coaches and committee members volunteering to ensure that the club runs smoothly and meets the needs of our members.  PASC is fortunate to have the support of Cascades staff and management who work in partnership with us to promote the development of the young people in our area.

Club members can swim up to four times a week; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.  PASC also has a “learn to swim” section where we begin teaching effective techniques that will equip swimmers with the skills for competitive swimming at an early stage.  New members are always welcome at PASC either as beginners or as competitive swimmers.

Teams selected have the opportunity to compete in the Aquasprint Junior Swimming league and in the Provincial Town League (PTL).  In addition, individual swimmers have the opportunity to take part in the Swim Ulster Development Meets.   The club also participates in friendly competitions such as the Arthur McDonald and Armagh Championships galas.

Our aim is to encourage, promote and develop the standard of swimming in Portadown.  We also want to ensure that our swimmers enjoy their time with PASC and develop friendship and skills that they can take with them into adulthood.  Outside the galas and training sessions, we organise club outings to enable swimmers and their families, coaches, and committee members to socialise and to maintain the sense of “club”.

Portadown ASC is based at  Cascades Leisure Centre, 51 Thomas Street, Portadown, Co Armagh, BT62 3AF
